Overview

This project aimed to evaluate the pan-Wales pilot of the Fostering Well-being Programme. The Fostering Well-being programme encompasses three strands of work:

  1. Five themes masterclasses delivered to multi-disciplinary members working in the team around the child
  2. The development of the pioneer foster carer role to help embed Fostering Well-being principles across the services and support the development of multi-disciplinary working
  3. Service support and action plan.

The Fostering Wellbeing programme brings together foster carers along with other professionals to share best practices across service boundaries.

Activities and Methods

The evaluation consisted of various methods including:

  • Survey
  • Interviews
  • Observations
  • Focus groups

Findings

This evaluation has now been completed. The feedback on the masterclass training was very positive, and the role of the Pioneer foster carer showed great promise.
