The Restorative Approaches Family Engagement Project is a training programme for family practitioners that was developed in Wales that focused on promoting and supporting the use of Restorative Approaches as a method of engagement with Seldom heard Families.

Overview

This project consisted of an evaluation of the impact of restorative approach (RA) training on voluntary sector practitioner confidence when delivery services and on their perceived engagement with families resistant to service use.

The research questions the evaluation aimed to answer included to what extent and how did RA training:

  1. Impact on practitioner confidence when working with and engaging families and clients?
  2. Change interactions between practitioners and families and clients?
  3. Lead to wider RA adoption and use in practitioner organisations and agencies?
