The aim of the research project is to evaluate the pilot of Step UP Step Down in Wales. It has run in Northern Ireland previously and been well received.
Overview
Instead of removing children and placing them in foster care, specialist foster carers support the whole family, parents and children to help keep them together.
Activities and Methods
Parents use an outcomes app to chart their progress , we will have access to this data.
We will be interviewing parents, specialist foster carers and children’s social workers after nine months. We will be running participative groups for children and young people during summer workshops to help evaluate progress made by families.
