Voices from Care
Voices From Care Cymu exists to improve the lives of care experienced children and young people in Wales by being an independent voice for the care community.
Voices From Care Cymru provides a Wellbeing service for young people who are care experienced (have been or are being looked after in Wales). This is generally individual support given by their Wellbeing Team on a wide range of problems, issue and concerns that effect many young people who have been in care.
They have two workers in their Wellbeing Team, one based on North Wales and one in South Wales.
Mermaids
Mermaids provides support to trans, non-binary and gender-questioning children and young people and the important people in their lives.
Mermaids provides a helpline and web chat service supporting transgender people up to the age of 20, as well as offering support for parents of trans kids. The helpline and web chat service offers emotional support, a gateway to the parents and teens forums, as well as resources.
The helpline is covered by trained staff and volunteers who will aim to answer your call or web chat between 9am and 9pm, Monday to Friday.
BEAT – Eating Disorder
Beat works to end to the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. You can contact them on their helpline between from 3pm– 8pm, 365 days a year, or online. They listen and try to help you understand the illness and provide support to take positive steps towards recovery.
They also support family and friends, equipping them with essential skills and advice, so they can help their loved ones recover whilst also looking after their own mental health.
